Notes:Earth, Humus, Woods, Tree Moss, Tonka Bean, Green Florals, Patchouli, Cedar
Chinook winds are warm, dry winds that occur on the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains and are easily identified by their unusual cloud formations. They result from moist air masses moving eastward from the Pacific Ocean and rising over the mountains, causing precipitation on the western slopes. As the air descends on the eastern side, it rapidly warms, causing dramatic temperature increases of 20°F to 40°F (11°C to 22°C) or more within hours! Chinooks swiftly melt snow, leading to rapid transitions from winter to spring-like conditions.
Chinook Sky, the winter entry for seasonal “Sky Series,” attempts to capture the smells of a momentary spring in the midst of winter. It’s earthy, fresh, green and has that outdoor crispness of a freshly melted snow. These lighter notes are anchored with cedarwood and patchouli essential oils. A bit of reprieve from winter brought to you by Macduff’s!
